Born in BostonMassachusetts, Alexander Claudio Mendoza is a 19-year-old established international DJ, producer, arranger, composer, and entrepreneur.
He was born into music and was influenced by his father, Victor Mendoza, an established Latin jazz musician, and grandfather Antonio Mendoza, an established international guitarist. His greatest influence was his grandmother, a classically trained pianist who passed away before Alex’s 11th birthday.
Growing up playing drums, Mendoza studied with Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez and Antonio Sanchez. He also studied the alto saxophone before deciding to commit to the piano at age 11. His piano teachers have included Hiromi Uehara, Carmen Staaf, and Rafael Alcala.
Beginning early in Mendoza’s DJ career, a great influence and mentor has been DJ, Roy Barboza. Alex has roadied and opened for various DJs and artists from around the country. Starting at the age of 14, he sponsored and hosted events that attracted hundreds of people to various venues in the Boston Area.
He has taken his work around the country, recently expanding into the international arena with performances in Paris and Valencia, Spain. Mendoza has deejayed and worked with various artists around the world.
Now studying at Berklee College of Music, Mendoza continues to perform while pursuing his education in music, majoring in Music Business.
